In the role of Software and Controls Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of technological advancement within Caterpillar. Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across various business units and roles to align strategies and execute them effectively, ensuring cohesive project execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical engineering) or a Master’s or PhD in engineering with coursework relevant to heavy machinery manufacturing or construction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, including:
    • A strong engineering background with a focus on electronics and electrical systems integration.
    • Experience in product design and the development of advanced control systems from concept through production.
    • Proficiency in navigating complex organizational structures and collaborating with a diverse range of professionals. Demonstrated ability to engage with senior leaders and present data-driven recommendations to drive decisions and actions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in:
    • New Technology Introduction (NTI) or New Product Introduction (NPI).
    • Successfully bringing technology solutions to market for customer-driven features, particularly in the construction or automotive industries.
    • Software development and creation.
    • Electrical System Architecture, including the ability to create and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely at all organizational levels, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment.
  • Skilled in performing detailed engineering analyses, employing advanced research methods to gather and evaluate industry data and trends. Capable of synthesizing extensive datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Exposure or experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
